This is my first post on this blog, and it won't be about fashion or image. It will be about what you deserve!
I'm going to share a bit of my story because I want you to know that you are worth a lot, and once you realize this, your life will become much better!
To start, I always had many ideas, many plans, many dreams, but I always had difficulty executing part of them. I was the kind of person who would start something and my mind would sabotage me, thinking I wouldn't be able to handle it! After all, I was dreaming too big! I had difficulty visualizing that the small bricks I was laying one next to the other would eventually form an entire building.
I started my first business at 23. I had a pole dance studio in Campinas, my hometown! Many times, I wanted to give up on it! I couldn't celebrate my small achievements! I always thought it was too little… after all, 10 students were nowhere near 300, one student doing a basic move was far from an advanced move, an event that gathered 50 people was far from the event I wanted. The ironic thing is, I was happy for all the achievements of the people around me!
I'm sure that you, woman, are happy when your friend manages to get out of that unhealthy relationship, when your friend receives a compliment from the boss, when your friend manages to run those extra meters... I'm also sure that you have difficulty seeing these small things as a reason to celebrate when they are done by you.
I take responsibility for the ingratitude I had towards my small achievements at the beginning of my career. I was unhappy, not because I didn't find myself in my profession, but because I never thought I was good enough to achieve my goals. The ironic thing is that I was helping women see the potential they had without being able to see mine. Most of my students were putting their children, husbands, studies, whatever, before their own well-being! Others had the same problem as me, they did everything the best way possible but never thought it was enough. Others had both problems combined. You, as a woman, know how the demand for perfection hits us all the time.
During the pandemic, I started looking more inside myself, after all, I needed to help myself to continue helping women surpass themselves! It was then that I started following the right people, started talking to the right people, started looking inside myself, started taking better care of myself, started eating better, started valuing myself… post-pandemic, I started going to the right places and, surprise: things changed for me. I started to see myself as deserving of success.
It was when I understood that I DESERVE success that I started to take first place in all the championships I participated in, it was then that I started to grow my studio's name nationally, it was then that I gained prominence in my professional field. And no, I don't believe that I just emitted the right energy to the world, and that was enough. What changed was that I started to believe in myself and began to seek the right tools to achieve my goals. At that time, I wanted to be a major reference in national pole dance. I studied what the people who were references were doing and traced my plan. In 6 months, I was already a known name.
I’m telling this story not because I want you to think I'm amazing, but because I want you to look at yourself and believe that you are amazing. I was just an ordinary woman, in an ordinary world, living an ordinary life, who, with the right mindset, became a great reference in the pole dance world.
Now, bringing this to image consulting, which is one of my current professions...
One of the things that helped me believe in myself was being well when looking in the mirror.
The pandemic made me realize the importance of daily rituals. You are the protagonist of your life, you are the first person who looks at yourself in the morning. You are the person who inhabits your body. You need to be well with yourself. My daily ritual will be different from your daily ritual! But one thing we all have in common is: We like to be surrounded by what is beautiful. Beauty makes us feel good.
The problem is that often, you leave what is most beautiful aside… When you choose your outfit for the day, you always wear the same things and leave that piece you love for a special occasion… When you put on your perfume, you use the one you don’t even like that much to save the one you love for a special occasion… When you think about putting makeup on, you often decide not to wear any because you’re just doing a small errand, but for a special occasion, you wear makeup because you want to feel more beautiful. When you have your breakfast, you don't set the table properly, but when guests come over, you choose your best set of towels, plates, glasses, and cutlery for them.
I'm here to tell you that life, by itself, is already special enough.
The more beauty and comfort you give yourself, the more you will overflow into the world.
Abundance starts there. First, it's you, then you overflow to others. First, you dress for yourself and then for the world around you. First, you eat at a beautiful table, then you think about offering this experience to others. My image consulting is more than teaching a woman how to dress well, it's making her understand her value.
Enjoying what you have the best of is honoring your money, your work, your effort. It’s honoring the woman you are.
This first post on my blog is to invite you to my newsletter. After all, I have made it my life mission to empower other women. And I assure you, what made me an excellent pole dance teacher or a great image consultant wasn't the technique I teach, but how much I encourage women to love themselves more.
Weekly, I will send a text like this to your email. I want an army of women who know their worth with me! And if you still don’t know how amazing you are, that's okay! That's what I'm here for.
My blog will be much more informative regarding fashion and image. Here, I will share technical information so that you can dress better and within your truth.
"Transform yourself to transform the world."
